I've been meaning to try out one of these blog things, so here it goes.
I'm now in a new city where it seems it is an endless food adventure. This past weekend, Johnny and Dianne were in town. I love it when people come to visit! Seeing familiar faces and having an excuse to splurge on dinner makes me and my stomach oh so happy.
We ate at Marnee Thai on Irving St on Friday night. This place was really cute and homey (and as Liz described it "Bahay Kubo"). The owner/manager reminded me of my aunts back home; she pushed us to order more food and made people move their table to fit more guests, but even though she was rude, I felt at home with her. Does that make any sense?!
Saturday we ate lunch at a hole in the wall place by my house Just Wonton. It was a disappointment with the eggplant and tofu and for some reason we didn't order any wontons?! I'll have to go back and check them out. Afterwards, we explored Golden Gate Park and walked around Stow Lake. I was looking for the path that would lead us to the botanical gardens, but we passed it and decided to save it for another day.
